3-Fucosylactose (3-FL) has rich physiological activities and plays an important role in the growth and development of infants. With a strong continuous and stable supply capacity, CD BioGlyco provides you with a sufficient inventory of 3-FL and strong after-sales support.
3-FL is an oligosaccharide found in human milk, composed of a lactose core of D-glucose and D-galactose units linked to L-fucose by α1-3 linkages. 3-FL was first separated from human breast milk in the mid-1950s and is an abundant complex carbohydrate in human breast milk, which has the function of prebiotics, immunomodulatory, and anti-pathogen adhesion therapy. At the same time, infant formula containing 3-FL may reduce diarrhea in infants.

It is reported that women with the Lewis blood group who lacked the gene to secrete 2'-fucosyllactose (2'FL) had significantly higher mean concentrations of 3-FL in their breast milk. The biological reasons for this variability in HMO concentrations are currently unknown, although variability is associated with multiple factors such as genetics (secretors vs non-secretors), geography, ethnicity, parity, maternal age, etc.
A recent study characterizing soluble glycans in camel milk found particularly high concentrations of oligosaccharides in colostrum and detected the presence of 3-FL. And fucosylated soluble glycans such as 3-FL and Lacto-N-fucopentaose I (LNFPI) were also found in elephant milk, but 2'FL was absent.
In addition to the chemical synthesis for 3-FL, CD BioGlyco mainly provides biological production methods enzymatic and microbial methods. Our Technologies include but are not limited to the following:
CD BioGlyco accumulated a variety of 3-FL production routes to suit your needs and welcome clients from all over the world to cooperate with us. If you have any questions, please contact us directly for more details.
