Allo A is divided into the lectins Allo A-I and Allo A-II, which have strong N-acetyllactosamine (Galβ1-4GlcNAc)-binding activity. Allo A is formed from three subunits (α, β, and γ), with Allo A-I comprising α and γ subunits and Allo A-II comprising β and γ subunits. Allo A is a C-type lectin specific for α-D-galactose containing oligosaccharides similar to the binding specificity of human lectins such as the asialoglycoprotein receptor. Hemagglutinating the activity of Allo A-I and Allo A-II is inhibited only by β-linked D-galactoses such as lactose and lactulose.
Lectins are key to helping researchers dissect, describe, and capture complex carbohydrates in biological systems. Therefore, production, purification, and detection of lectins are essential. CD BioGlyco provides professional Allo A production and activity analysis services.
The extraction process is to improve the solubility of the protein by optimizing the factors affecting the protein solubility under the condition of ensuring the biological activity of the target material. Our production process is optimized by adjusting various parameters of the extraction process, including pH, temperature, extracting time, buffer system, etc., to produce high yield and high stability Allo A.
Allo A is a protein or glycoprotein in terms of its chemical nature, and it also has the property of specific and reversible binding to glycogroups. Therefore, we provide affinity chromatography and gel filtration methods for the isolation and purification of the Allo A. Each step of the process of purification is strictly detection, to produce high purity, high activity, and intact target lectin.
