CD BioGlyco has extensive biological and chemical knowledge of glycobiology and materials characterization to provide clients with antibacterial activity testing to analyze the antibacterial potential of various Carbohydrate-based Biodegradable Materials. We have the confidence to develop comprehensive solutions to drive your project to completion.
Chronic wounds are ulcer injuries caused by infection of local skin and subcutaneous tissue. Bacterial infection of the wound not only destroys the remaining epithelial tissue but can also arrest the growth of epithelial tissue. Due to the contradiction between the killing inhibition of harmful flora near the wound and the proliferation of cells (epithelialization) during the healing process, it is challenging to discover effective treatments and solutions.
The development of novel antibacterial materials based on modified natural polysaccharides such as biodegradable carboxymethylated chitosan is of great importance for the treatment of chronic hard-to-heal wounds. It is crucial to understand the biological properties of polysaccharide-based biodegradable materials, which are broad-spectrum antibacterial, promote cell proliferation, and have a high biosafety profile, to rationally use them in the biomedical field.
