Results: The authors aimed to investigate the immunomodulatory effects of larch arabinogalactan from North American larix species on resistance to common cold infections. In their research, they found that larch arabinogalactan enhanced natural killer cells and macrophages, along with boosting the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines in cell and animal models. Additionally, vaccination studies demonstrated improvements in serum antigen-specific IgG and IgE responses to Streptococcus pneumoniae and tetanus vaccinations, suggesting a B cell-dependent mechanism.
