Solubility
It is easily soluble in N, N-dimethylformamide and pyridine, and soluble in alkaline solutions such as sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide. However, it is unstable in lye and gradually becomes dark brown. It is slightly soluble in hot glacial acetic acid, hardly soluble in formic acid, acetic acid, acetone, almost insoluble in water, ether, benzene, chloroform.
