Results: This study used multiple dynamic light scattering methods to assess the compatibility of calcium chloride and calcium gluconate injections in neonatal parenteral nutrition solutions. Several of the following metrics such as solution pH, visual, and light obscuration were examined in the compatible solutions and the results showed that the highest concentration tested was 15 mmol/L calcium. In addition, this study provides new guidance for the addition of calcium and phosphate to neonatal parenteral nutrition solutions.
