The production of carbohydrates has wide applications in materials science and biomedicine, the development of high-affinity ligands, and drug delivery systems. CD BioGlyco focuses on providing customers with large-scale synthesis services of carbohydrates. We believe that our efficient services will accelerate your research.
Carbohydrates are functional biomolecules as the main source of energy for the body, with structures ranging from monosaccharides to polysaccharides. They occur naturally in the form of pure glycans or are attached to lipids and proteins to form glycoconjugates. Unlike protein synthesis, carbohydrate biosynthesis is not controlled by genes. This regulation is achieved by the expression of enzymes that hydrolyze and transfer the glycan units, resulting in glycoconjugate having complex mixtures of glycan structures.
At present, there are no carbohydrate amplification programs comparable to the amplification of DNA by PCR techniques or to the expression of proteins in cell lines. However, due to the development of chemical, chemo-enzymatic, or enzymatic synthesis strategies, carbohydrates including oligo- and polysaccharide fragments, regional isomers, natural products, and glycomimetics can be accessible in a homogeneous form with highly complex and large numbers. In addition, synthetic glycans are important building blocks for the preparation of glycoconjugates and glycopolymers. currently, a plethora of methods has been reported on the assembly of glycans and their connection with other biomolecules.
