Carboxymethylcellulose Calcium Analysis Service

Carboxymethylcellulose Calcium Analysis Service

Ensuring Precision in Your Carboxymethylcellulose Calcium Analysis Needs

Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is a disintegrant with adhesive properties. It has fast water absorption and swelling ability and good compressibility. Due to its good chelating structure, especially for cephalosporins with good dissolution improvement performance, it is often used as a pharmaceutical excipient.

With world-leading pharmaceutical analysis technology and rich experience in Pharmaceutical Excipient Analysis, CD BioGlyco provides reliable carboxymethylcellulose calcium analysis services to clients.

  • Identification

Carboxymethylcellulose calcium can be identified by adding an appropriate amount of sodium hydroxide solution to the sample solution and performing the following operations.

  • Add a drop of metachromatic acid solution to the above solution, and when heated, if the solution shows a purplish-red color, the sample is carboxymethylcellulose calcium.
  • Acetone is added to the above solution, if a white flocculent precipitate appears, the sample is carboxymethylcellulose calcium.
  • Ferric chloride solution is added to the above solution, and a brown flocculent precipitate appears, indicating that the sample is carboxymethylcellulose calcium.
  • Solubility

Carboxymethylcellulose calcium swells and forms a suspension in water and is insoluble in acetone, ethanol, or toluene.

  • Acidity

Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is acidic, so the phenolphthalein indicator added to its aqueous solution shows no red color.

  • Chloride

Add sodium hydroxide solution and nitric acid to carboxymethylcellulose calcium and sodium chloride solutions respectively. Compare the phenomena produced by the two (the presence or absence of a precipitate). If the phenomena are the same (white precipitate appears), then carboxymethylcellulose calcium contains chloride.

  • Loss on drying

Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is dried at 105°C for 4 hours with a weight loss of not more than 10.0%.

  • Incineration of residue

Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is taken and fully cauterized. The residue left should be 10.0% to 20.0% as a dry product.

Applications

  • Adequate analysis of carboxymethylcellulose calcium can be used to enhance the productivity of pharmaceutical binders and film formers.
  • Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is often used as an additive to promote the solubility of drugs, and our analysis services help to develop pharmaceutical formulations, improving the solubility properties of pharmaceuticals.
  • Analysis of carboxymethylcellulose calcium can be used to evaluate the effects of calcium salts on the human body.
