Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is a disintegrant with adhesive properties. It has fast water absorption and swelling ability and good compressibility. Due to its good chelating structure, especially for cephalosporins with good dissolution improvement performance, it is often used as a pharmaceutical excipient.
With world-leading pharmaceutical analysis technology and rich experience in Pharmaceutical Excipient Analysis, CD BioGlyco provides reliable carboxymethylcellulose calcium analysis services to clients.
Carboxymethylcellulose calcium can be identified by adding an appropriate amount of sodium hydroxide solution to the sample solution and performing the following operations.
Carboxymethylcellulose calcium swells and forms a suspension in water and is insoluble in acetone, ethanol, or toluene.
Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is acidic, so the phenolphthalein indicator added to its aqueous solution shows no red color.
Add sodium hydroxide solution and nitric acid to carboxymethylcellulose calcium and sodium chloride solutions respectively. Compare the phenomena produced by the two (the presence or absence of a precipitate). If the phenomena are the same (white precipitate appears), then carboxymethylcellulose calcium contains chloride.
Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is dried at 105°C for 4 hours with a weight loss of not more than 10.0%.
Carboxymethylcellulose calcium is taken and fully cauterized. The residue left should be 10.0% to 20.0% as a dry product.
