Properties
Description
Hydrolysis of alizarin-2-β-D-galactopyranoside releases alizarin very readily, and alizarin complexes with metal ions to produce a variety of brightly colored complexes. Its maximum absorption and emission wavelengths are 447 nm and 476 nm, respectively.
Molecular Formula
C20H18O9
Purity
≥98%, determined by HPLC.
Solubility
It is soluble in N,N-Dimethylformamide(DMF).
Identity
Confirmed by FT-IR spectrum, 1H NMR and 13C-NMR spectrum.
Applications
Alizarin-2-beta-D-pyran galactoside can be used to measure the activity of the heme synthase, chemiluminescence or bioluminescence detection systems.
