Cyclodextrin is a ring-shaped oligosaccharide composed of pyranose glucose molecules joined by α-(1,4) glycosidic linkages. Its configuration resembles a hollow truncated cone, characterized by a hydrophobic inner cavity and a hydrophilic outer surface. This unique design allows cyclodextrin to form host-guest inclusion complexes with various small molecules and polymers by encapsulating them, thus modifying their physical and chemical properties. Its versatile nature makes it popular in industries such as medicine, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, and textiles. CD BioGlyco provides clients with cyclodextrin products ranging from milligrams to kilograms, including natural α-cyclodextrin, β-cyclodextrin, γ-cyclodextrin, and various modified cyclodextrin derivatives.

CD BioGlyco has extensive expertise in cyclodextrin chemistry and has carefully developed a range of high-quality cyclodextrin products, including natural α-cyclodextrin, β-cyclodextrin, and γ-cyclodextrin as well as complex cyclodextrin derivatives. These cyclodextrin products are used in the pharmaceutical, specialty fine chemicals industry, etc. We also provide custom synthesis of cyclodextrin derivative products according to the specific needs of clients.
α-Cyclodextrin is a type of dextrin composed of six glucose molecules linked via α-1,4 glycosidic bonds, forming a ring-shaped configuration. It results from the action of glucosyltransferase on starch syrup. Compared to β-cyclodextrin, the internal cavity of α-cyclodextrin is smaller, making it more appropriate for incorporating low molecular weight compounds, thus enhancing their stability. The introduction of α-cyclodextrin has initiated a transformative advancement in drug delivery systems, with the potential to enable targeted and prolonged release mechanisms. Here are four α-cyclodextrin products we offer, please click on α-cyclodextrin to view more product information.
β-cyclodextrin is composed of seven D-glucose molecules connected end to end by α-1,4-glycosidic bonds. Its molecular structure is conical, with a hydrophobic inner cavity and a hydrophilic outer cavity. This unique structure enables β-cyclodextrin to encapsulate various hydrophobic molecules in the inner cavity like a molecular container to form an inclusion compound. β-cyclodextrin improves the stability and solubility of the included substance, reduces volatility, and masks bad odors. It has a wide range of applications in pharmaceutical preparations, food additives, cosmetic raw materials, and other fields. Here are four β-cyclodextrin products we offer, please click on β-cyclodextrin to view more information about the product.
γ-cyclodextrin, a unique cyclic oligosaccharide molecule, has shown broad application prospects in many fields with its unique inclusion effect. It not only protects the included molecules, but also improves the stability and solubility of the molecules, and even changes the properties of the molecules. From food to medicine, from cosmetics to environmental protection, γ-cyclodextrin plays an important role. We provide clients with γ-cyclodextrin and its derivatives for various purposes, such as (2-hydroxypropyl)-γ-cyclodextrin, heptakis(6-deoxy-6-(2-carboxyethyl)thio)-γ-cyclodextrin. Results: The combination of calixarene 0118 (OTX008) and chrysin (CHR) is an effective strategy to combat fibrosis and diabetes, but an appropriate delivery system is needed to promote their combined dissolution and delivery. The authors combined sulfobutylated β-cyclodextrin (SBECD) with OTX008 and CHR to develop a novel ternary complex system to address the problems of low solubility and bioavailability. The results showed that the introduction of SBECD facilitated the dissolution and delivery of CHR and OTX008, and CHR-OTX008-SBECD is a novel and promising drug to address the problem of fibrosis under hyperglycemic conditions.
