Dynamic light scattering (DLS), also known as quasi-elastic light scattering (QLS) or photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS), is a widely used spectroscopic method in chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. CD BioGlyco is dedicated to providing clients with DLS analysis to help them determine the size distribution of particles in solution or suspension of polysaccharide-based biodegradable materials.
Techniques for exploring the dimensions of molecules in the solution include static light scattering (SLS) and DLS, the weight-average molecular weight and root-mean-square radius of gyration can be obtained, while DLS provides information on the hydrodynamic radius (Rh) from the measurement of the diffusion coefficient, and the distributions of hydrodynamic radii, i.e. size distributions. DLS is currently used to characterize the size of a wide range of particles, including polymers, micelles, proteins, carbohydrates, nanoparticles, gels, and many other materials. The technique has also been used to analyze the interactions of nanoparticles with other species such as DNA, polymers, and biomarkers.
Advantages of DLS analysis:

We provide Chemical Characterization of Polysaccharide-based Biodegradable Materials through a variety of analytical techniques. Our reliable and efficient DLS analysis helps clients obtain important parameters such as molecular weight, Rh, and translational diffusion constants to help them understand the properties of polysaccharide-based degradable biomaterials. Our services include but are not limited to:
Our DLS analysis helps clients quickly and easily measure size distributions of polysaccharide-based biomaterials for different applications, such as:
For in-depth analysis of high-resolution size distributions and other physical characteristics of polysaccharide-based biomaterials, we also offer multi-angle light scattering coupled with size exclusion chromatography (SEC-MALS) and field-flow fractionation multiangle light-scattering (FFF-MALS) to provide complementary and orthogonal techniques for DLS.
CD BioGlyco has introduced an advanced DLS technology to provide scientific support for researchers in the field of Carbohydrate-based Biodegradable Materials research. We have recruited many professional DLS technicians to provide clients with strong support throughout the process, particularly in the most critical steps of sample preparation and data acquisition.
