Properties
Description
Afatinib dimaleate, soluble in DMSO and insoluble in ethanol and water, is a compound that blocks the activity of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), both of which are involved in driving the growth and proliferation of certain types of cancer cells. It targets EGFR (L858R), EGFR (L858R/T790M), EGFR (wt), and HER2.
Molecular Formula
C32H33ClFN5O11
Targets

Solubility
DMSO: 87 mg/mL (121.3 mM); Water: Insoluble; Ethanol: Insoluble
Identity
Confirmed by NMR/HPLC/MS.
Stability
The product is stable for three years when stored at the recommended temperature in lyophilized powder.
Applications
Afatinib dimaleate is used for its irreversible inhibition of the ErbB family of receptors in studies on various cancers.
