Enzymatic Purification of GSLs

The principle of enzyme-based GSL purification is the hydrolysis of GSL using specific enzymes. Under specific conditions, the enzyme recognizes the structure and composition of the GSL molecule and breaks only specific chemical bonds during the hydrolysis process, thus breaking the GSL into units such as monosaccharides, disaccharides, or oligosaccharides. Different GSL molecules will produce different hydrolysis products under the action of different enzymes, and the purpose of purifying GSL can be achieved by separating or removing the different hydrolysis products during this process. The enzyme is specific, efficient, and selective in the purification process of GSL, which effectively improves the purification efficiency and purity.
