The lipid mixture obtained from cells and tissues is usually a mixture of lipids containing glycosphingolipids (GSL), and getting the pure GSL requires further processing. CD BioGlyco offers complete Gel filtration chromatography (GFC)-based GSL purification service to our customers.
GFC is a molecular separation method based on the distribution properties of biomolecules in solution in the pore structure of a gel sieve. The gels used in the separation process are usually porous polymeric materials such as agar, polyacrylamide, etc. In GFC, smaller biomolecules pass through the gel pores as the mixture passes from the sample solution through the gel pores. Conversely, larger biomolecules are repelled by the volume of the gel pore and cannot enter the interior of the pore. After this process, large and small biological macromolecules are separated. GFC does not depend on the specific properties of biological macromolecules and is relatively gentle on sample processing without destroying the structure molecules. Due to its high accuracy, reproducibility, and repeatability, it is widely used for the separation of macromolecules in biochemical experiments.
GFC is a commonly applied method for isolation and purification.CD BioGlyco offers customized GFC -based GSL purification services to our customers around the world.
Our service utilizes supramolecular GFC for the separation of GSLs, which is simple, fast, efficient, and does not require an applied electric field.
This service is suitable for the separation of small molecule compounds such as lipids and peptides. It has the advantages of simple operation, high sensitivity, good separation, and no high molecular weight correction.
This service is suitable for large molecules, and we utilize it to remove salt ions from the sample. Samples processed by desalination GFC usually contain lower salt ion concentrations and are more suitable for subsequent experiments.
This service helps separate pigments, impurities, and other small molecules in your products, improving accuracy and reducing errors in subsequent experiments.
