Ginsenoside F1 is a triterpene saponin originally found in species of Panax ginseng that exhibits cytoprotective and anti-apoptotic activities, inhibiting UV-induced cell death and apoptosis by downregulating the expression of Bcl-2 and preventing cleavage of PARP.
