Glycosphingolipids (GSLs) play an important biological role in cells and are involved in many biological processes, including immunity and tumor metastasis, in addition to being involved in the development of a number of diseases. CD BioGlyco offers various customized GSL component analysis services by Lectin assay for our customers.
Lectins are a class of proteins that are highly specific and able to bind to specific glycan molecules. By utilizing this property, Lectins strongly bond to fluorescein or enzymes to form fluorescein or enzyme-labeled Lectins. It is then added to the biological sample to be tested and the amount of sugar groups covalently bound to the Lectin in the sample is changed by fluorescence or enzymatic action. The results of the quantitative analysis then be obtained. In addition, Lectins can also isolate, enrich and purify glycan molecules by inducing coagulation and precipitation. Thus, Lectin assays are used as a common biochemical method for the quantification and detection of specific glycan molecules in protein or glycoprotein samples.
CD BioGlyco has a cutting-edge, highly sensitive, and accurate solution for GSL component analysis, with particular experience in the extraction, purification, and component analysis of GSLs. The service we offer include:
Different lectins bind to different types of GSLs, and we perform different Lectin tests on the samples to identify and characterize the different types of GSLs.
We performed lectin tests on samples using different specific lectins to determine whether the samples contained sphingolipids and to determine the amount of GSLs.
We provide services for the determination of the spatial structure of GSLs, such as intra-molecular rotation angle, spatial site resistance, and molecular conformation.
