Applications
N4-Benzoyl-2'-deoxycytidine is a fluorescent nucleoside that has been used to investigate the chemical interactions between sugar residues and nucleic acid phosphate groups. It's a reagent for glycosidation, which includes forming a glycosidic bond between an alcohol group in a saccharide or oligosaccharide and the hydroxyl group in an aromatic acid. Solid-phase methods have also been used to synthesize it.
