Applications
N4-Methyl-cytidine is a nucleoside analog that can be used to inhibit mitochondrial DNA synthesis by blocking the bacterial enzyme uridine-cytidine kinase. In cell culture tests, it also can be used effectively against viruses such as HIV and HSV-1.
