N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine (D-GlcNAc) is a derivative of glucose monomer, present in bacterial cell walls, chitin, hyaluronic acid and various polysaccharide polymers. It can be used to identify, differentiate and characterize N-acetyl-β-D-hexosaminidase.
