  • Identification of neomycin sulfate
    • Coloring reaction: After dissolving a small amount of the sample to be tested in water, we add hydrochloric acid solution, sodium hydroxide solution, and acetylacetone solution to it in turn. After heating for some time, let it stand, and then add p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde test solution to it, if the solution shows a cherry red color, it means the sample is neomycin sulfate.
    • Thin-layer chromatography (TLC): The sample to be tested and the neomycin sulfate standard are dissolved separately and expanded on a thin layer plate under the same conditions. Compare the heights of the two spots, if the heights are the same, the sample is neomycin sulfate
  • Content analysis
    The sample to be tested is weighed precisely, and sterilized water is added to make a solution. Then we will use the antibiotic microbiological assay method to determine the content of neomycin sulfate.
  • Neomycin impurity analysis
    Thin-layer chromatography is used to compare the content of neomycin impurities in neomycin sulfate standards and samples.
  • Acidity analysis
    The neomycin sulfate sample is dissolved in water and the pH value is determined using a pH meter. The pH of the neomycin sulfate standard should be 5.0-7.0.
  • Loss on drying
    The samples to be tested are dried under reduced pressure at elevated temperatures to a constant weight. Theoretically, the weight loss of neomycin sulfate should not exceed 6.0%.
  • Neomycin sulfate is usually available in several other states, and we offer their analysis as well.
    • Neomycin sulfate tablets: white tablet form
    • Neomycin sulfate eye drops: clear colorless to slightly yellow liquid

    • They are identified and analyzed in the same way in which neomycin sulfate is. However, the pH of neomycin sulfate eye drops is usually 6.0-7.0.

Results: The authors utilized the glucose-Fehling reagent reaction catalyzed by graphene oxide (GO) to successfully prepare stable Cu2O nanocubic (Cu2ONC) sols. The authors then characterized it using EDS. On this basis, the authors developed a highly sensitive and selective RRS energy transfer (RRS-ET) method for the detection of neomycin sulfate by using Cu2ONC as an RRS spectroscopic probe. The linear range of the method was 1.4-112 μM, and the detection limit was 0.4 μM.
