Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, as the most effective method of resolving the structure of substances, has promoted the structural and conformational analysis of polysaccharides. CD BioGlyco is dedicated to developing a high-sensitivity and high-resolution NMR solution to provide customized NMR analysis services of polysaccharide-based biodegradable materials for researchers in the scientific and pharmaceutical industries, ranging from sample processing to NMR data acquisition and analysis.
The large molecular weight of polysaccharides, the large variety of monosaccharide residues and substituent groups, and the diversity of ways in which monosaccharide residues are linked lead to many difficulties in the structural study of polysaccharides. NMR spectroscopy is one of the most important and useful techniques for the structural identification of polysaccharides and has been widely used for the characterization of polysaccharides, including quantitative analysis, degradation analysis of polysaccharides, the interaction between polysaccharides and other substances, and carbohydrate impurities profiling. This helps to provide valuable information for Carbohydrate-based Biodegradable Material Development.
The principle of NMR is that the absorption of electromagnetic waves from one spin energy level to another by the atomic nucleus in an external magnetic field creates an absorption spectrum that represents structural information about the individual nucleus and its surroundings, allowing the detection and analysis of information such as the heterotopic conformation, glycosidic bonding pattern and linkage order of polysaccharides. The molecular structure of polysaccharides needs to be analyzed with the aid of 2D NMR techniques because of the significant signal overlap of identical atoms in 1D NMR.

We offer 1D NMR (1H and 13C NMR) and 2D NMR (correlation spectroscopy(COSY), total correlated spectroscopy (TOCSY), nuclear overhauser effect spectroscopy (NOESY), heteronuclear single-quantum correlated spectroscopy (HMQC), heteronuclear single-quantum correlated spectroscopy (HSQC), and heteronuclear multiple-quantum correlated spectroscopy (HMBC)) to help our clients analyze polysaccharide-based materials. Our specialized Chemical Characterization of Polysaccharide-based Biodegradable Materials allows us to provide our clients with information such as the monosaccharide composition of the polysaccharide, the order of monosaccharide residues, and the configuration of the glycosidic bond. Our services include but are not limited to:
