CD BioGlyco has sufficient experience to provide comprehensive Technologies for HMO Production. We have the confidence to customize the best solution to help you resolve problems.
HMOs are commonly connected with prebiotic effects since the very first beginning of the research. Moreover, in the past several years, it is shown that these complex carbohydrates possess a series of health benefits for babies. HMOs, inhibit pathogens to attach to the mucosal surfaces of babies and defense against the infections of viral, bacterial, and protozoan parasites. Besides, HMOs are able to regulate the responses of epithelial and immune cells. They provide Sialic Acid for infants and may be a potentially essential nutrient for brain growth.
HMOs are structurally divided into 11 more core groups that are built from core type 1 and type 2. These backbone structures are further decorated with Fuc residues in α-1,2, α-1,3, and α-1,4 linkages, or with Neu5Ac in α-2,3 or α-2,6 linkages to achieve the wide complexity and diversity of HMOs. The β-1,6 linkages introduce branched chains, and branched Oligosaccharides are designated as iso-HMOs. The rest of them generate linear chains, and linear ones are named para-HMOs. HMOs can be further classified as acidic or neutral oligosaccharides, depending on the presence of sialic acid or not. pLNnO is a para-HMO identified in breast milk. The core structure of pLNnO is shown in Fig.1.

HMOs are urgently needed for production due to those important biological functions related to them. CD BioGlyco provides HMO production service based on enzymatic synthesis which is an attractive approach. Because it is able to rise above synthetic limitations. We use automated solid-phase for oligosaccharide synthesis, enabling the fast and efficient production of HMO-like sugars. In solid-phase synthesis, oligosaccharides are linked to an insoluble material (beads or resins) that allows the fast separation of reaction products from excess reagents, soluble reaction by-products, and solvents. We provide pLNnO production services for chemical syntheses according to customer demand. Besides, CD BioGlyco provides graphitised carbon solid phase extraction (SPE) method to separate various oligosaccharides. Moreover, we use capillary electrophoresis associated with magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (MALDI-FTICR MS) techniques for chemical structure determination. We guarantee to provide you with satisfactory products.
