Properties
Description
VR23, soluble in warmed DMSO and warmed water and insoluble in ethanol, interferes with the proteasome’s ability to degrade proteins, thereby disrupting cellular processes in cancer cells, particularly multiple myeloma. It targets Caspase-like proteasomes, Chymotrypsin-like proteasomes, and trypsin-like proteasomes.
Molecular Formula
C19H16ClN5O6S
Targets
Caspase-like proteasomes: 3 μM; Chymotrypsin-like proteasomes: 50-100 nM; Trypsin-like proteasomes: 1 nM
Solubility
Warmed DMSO: 29 mg/mL (60.68 mM); Warmed water: 5 mg/mL (10.46 mM); Ethanol: Insoluble
Identity
Confirmed by NMR/HPLC/MS.
Applications
VR23 is used in research to investigate and inhibit proteasome activity, which is key in regulating protein degradation and cellular processes.
