Przewaquinone A is isolated from the roots of Salvia miltiorrhiza. Przewaquinone A has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It has been found to be effective in inhibiting the growth of hepatocarcinoma cell lines and also inhibits the production of urea nitrogen.
