Properties
Description
Recombinant endo-α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase from Bifidobacterium longum is a glycoside hydrolase that recognizes the structure of the Galβ1-3GalNAc disaccharide α-linked with a hydroxyl group.
Unit Definition
One unit will produce 1 μmol of Galβ1-3GalNAc from Galβ1-3GalNAc α-pNP per minute at pH 6.0 at 37°C.
Expression System
E. coli
Source
Bifidobacterium longum
Reaction Conditions
50 mM Sodium acetate, pH 5.0
Production Methods
Fermentation
Detection Method
The 20 μL mixture of recombinant endo-α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase and Galβ1-3GalNAc α-pNP is incubated at 37°C for 10 min. After waiting for the reaction to finish, 30 μL of 0.25 M sodium carbonate is added for bursting. Importantly, the quantification of released pNP is measured by UV spectroscopy.
Sensitivity
Heat sensitive
Concentration
100 munits/vial
Form
White powder to crystal
Applications
Recombinant endo-α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase from Bifidobacterium longum can be used to produce Galβ1-3GalNAc (galacto-N-biose) by hydrolysis.
