Properties
Description
Recombinant Bacillus subtilis peptidoglycan lytic exotransglycosylase 23A produced by Escherichia coli, cleaves the linkage from either the reducing or non-reducing ends of the peptidoglycan chains, while forming a 1,6-anhydrobond in the MurNAc residue.
Expression System
Escherichia coli
Species
Bacillus subtilis
Purity
≥90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Activity
Peptidoglycan lytic exotransglycosylases
Buffer
35 mM NaHepes buffer (pH 7.5), 750 mM NaCl, 200 mM imidazole, 3.5 mM CaCl2, and 25% (v/v) glycerol
Applications
Recombinant Bacillus subtilis peptidoglycan lytic exotransglycosylase 23A can be used for glycobiology research. It has the ability to hydrolyze N-acetylated glycan.
