Properties
Description
Recombinant Bifidobacterium bifidum α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase 129A produced by Escherichia coli, is a lysosomal alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminidase that is responsible for cleaving non-reducing alpha-N-acetylgalactosaminyl moieties from glycoconjugates.
Expression System
Escherichia coli
Species
Bifidobacterium bifidum
Purity
≥90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Activity
Acetylgalactosaminidases
Buffer
35 mM NaHepes buffer (pH 7.5), 750 mM NaCl, 200 mM imidazole, 3.5 mM CaCl2, and 25% (v/v) glycerol
Applications
Recombinant Bifidobacterium bifidum α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase 129A is useful for the investigation of Schindler's disease. It has the ability to hydrolyze GalNAcα1-Ser.
