Properties
Description
It is a recombinant Flavobacterium meningosept-icum peptide-N-glycosidase F (high mannose, hybrid, and complex oligosaccharides from N-linked glycoproteins) produced in E. coli. This product can be used to study the mode of action of the enzyme and its potential inhibitors, and can also be used as a glycoengineering tool to modify glycoprotein in vitro.
Unit Definition
One unit will catalyze the removal >95% of the carbohydrate from 10 μg of denatured RNase B in a total reaction volume of 10 µl in one hour at 37°C.
Source
Flavobacterium meningosept-icum
Applications
It can cleave high mannose, hybrid, and complex oligosaccharides from N-linked glycoproteins and glycopeptides between the innermost GlcNAc and asparagine residues. As a consequence, a free glycan and a deaminated protein or peptide are produced.
