Properties
Description
Recombinant Opitutus terrae glucuronyl esterase 15B produced by Escherichia coli, catalyzes the hydrolysis of ester bonds between 4-O-methyl-D-glucuronic acid residues of glucuronoxylans and aromatic alcohols of lignin.
Expression System
Escherichia coli
Purity
≥90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Activity
Glucuronyl esterases
Buffer
35 mM NaHepes buffer (pH 7.5), 750 mM NaCl, 200 mM imidazole, 3.5 mM CaCl2, and 25% (v/v) glycerol
Applications
Recombinant Opitutus terrae glucuronyl esterase 15B can be used in biofuel production, pulp and paper processing, and lignocellulosic biomass utilization. It participates in the de-esterification of glucuronyl crosslinks between hemicelluloses and lignin.
