Properties
Description
Recombinant Ruminococcus flavefaciens lichenase 16D produced by Escherichia coli, is a specific endo-(1-3),(1-4)-β-D-glucan 4-glucanohydrolase that solubilizes β-glucans from cereal grains by attacking β-(1,4) glucosidic linkages to give gluco-oligosaccharides.
Expression System
Escherichia coli
Species
Ruminococcus flavefaciens
Purity
≥90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.
Buffer
35 mM NaHepes buffer (pH 7.5), 750 mM NaCl, 200 mM imidazole, 3.5 mM CaCl2, and 25% (v/v) glycerol
Applications
Recombinant Ruminococcus flavefaciens lichenase 16D can be used in carbohydrate research and biofuel industries. It has the ability to hydrolyze 1,3-1,4-β-glucans and lichenan.
