Semagacestat (LY450139), soluble in DMSO and ethanol and insoluble in water, inhibits the activity of proteases, which are enzymes involved in the breakdown of proteins. It targets γ secretase(Aβ38) (H4 human glioma cells), γ secretase(Aβ40) (H4 human glioma cells), γ secretase(Aβ42) (H4 human glioma cells), and notch (H4 human glioma cells).
