Properties
Description
Sirtinol, soluble in DMSO and insoluble in ethanol and water, is a compound that blocks the activity of sirtuins, a family of NAD+-dependent deacetylases involved in the regulation of aging, metabolism, and stress resistance. It targets hSIRT1, hSIRT2, and ySir2.
Molecular Formula
C26H22N2O2
Targets
hSIRT1: 131 μM; hSIRT2: 57.7 μM; ySir2: 48 μM
Solubility
DMSO: 20 mg/mL (50.7 mM); Water: Insoluble; Ethanol: Insoluble
Identity
Confirmed by NMR/HPLC/MS.
Stability
The product is stable for three years when stored at the recommended temperature in lyophilized powder.
Applications
Sirtinol is applied to study the inhibition of SIRT1 and SIRT2 and their role in cellular aging and cancer.
