Sodium Starch Phosphate Analysis Service

Empowering Quality Through Sodium Starch Phosphate Analysis

Sodium starch phosphate, a form of starch phosphate, is typically a powder ranging from white to light yellow. It is created from the combination of starch and phosphate. This substance is widely utilized as a food additive and as an additional ingredient in medicine. Within the pharmaceutical industry, it is frequently included as part of drug formulations for oral tablets, granules, capsules, and other preparations. CD BioGlyco has been offering Pharmaceutical and Biological Analysis Services to our valued clients for numerous years, which includes our specialized Pharmaceutical Excipient Analysis Services. We offer a wide range of sodium starch phosphate analysis services to our clients.

  • CD BioGlyco provides sodium starch phosphate analysis service by using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), enabling precise quantification of sodium starch phosphate in pharmaceuticals to meet your rigorous quality control standards. At the same time, we help you determine the purity of the active ingredients in your medication, including determining the type and amount of possible impurities.
  • We assist you in determining the solubility of sodium starch phosphate in various solvents and its solubility characteristics in pharmaceutical formulations through in vitro solubility tests or assays.
  • CD BioGlyco helps you in the assessment of sodium starch phosphate stability in pharmaceuticals through thermal analysis (e.g. thermogravimetric analysis) and spectroscopy, including its stability under various conditions such as temperature, humidity, light, and other factors.
  • Our experts assist you in thoroughly detecting microbial contamination of sodium starch phosphate using microbial culture and enumeration methods. We are capable of accurately identifying the presence of bacteria, mold, and yeast to provide reliable data support. Additionally, we offer targeted advice and solutions based on the test results to effectively control and prevent the issue of microbial contamination of sodium starch phosphate in pharmaceuticals.

Results: This article focuses on the use of a new modified starch, starch phosphate, in the formulation development of tablets. The authors have found that the use of starch phosphate as an excipient improves the physical properties and drug-release characteristics of tablets. In this paper, the starch phosphate was also analyzed and characterized. After characterization, it was concluded that starch phosphate is a white, crystalline, non-hygroscopic powder that can be easily ground into particles of different sizes. Phosphoric acid starch was insoluble in water, in aqueous solutions of acidic and alkaline pH, and in a variety of organic solvents. When its aqueous dispersion was heated to 100°C, phosphoric acid starch did not form a paste/gel, whereas potato starch formed a paste/gel. As a chemically modified starch, phosphate starch is insoluble in water and has good swelling and flowability, so it can be used as a carrier in solid dispersions without pasting or gelation to increase the dissolution rate of poorly soluble drugs.
