Tartaric is an alpha-hydroxy-carboxylic acid, is diprotic and aldaric in acid characteristics, and is a dihydroxyl derivative of succinic acid. This product can complex with a variety of metal ions and is used as a cleaning agent and polishing agent for metal surfaces.
