Vicia faba lectin (VFA) binds highly specifically to mannose or glucose. It contains two distinct subunits with molecular weights of 17300 and 14300, respectively. At CD BioGlyco, we provide fast and efficient VFA extraction, purification, and analysis services to clients worldwide. We have a professional production team and perfect facilities to meet the different production needs of our clients.
Choose a plump broad bean ground powder. The actions are extracted overnight in buffer and filtered by suspension before centrifugation. Collect the supernatant, then add solid ammonium sulfate. Centrifugate the buffer again and collect the precipitate. Treatment with deionized water and finally with a buffer containing sodium azide. The dialysate is purified using an affinity chromatography column and eluted with a buffer containing glucose. Collect the glucose-eluted proteins. Our production team has extensive experience in extraction and purification. Every step is strictly controlled.
For the purified lectin, our trained staff offers several analysis services. Our knowledgeable scientists will help you complete the data analysis reports. Our service team has a wealth of industry experience to help our clients analyze every map.

Paper Title: Vicia faba agglutinin, the lectin present in broad beans, stimulates differentiation of undifferentiated colon cancer cells
Aims: To evaluate the effects of different lectins (VFA, Wheat germ Agglutinin, Agaricus bisporus Lectin, peanut agglutinin, soybean agglutinin) on the colorectal cancer cells.
Journal: Gut
IF: 31.793
Results: VFA aggregates cells of LS174T, SW1222, and HT 29 cells. Among these, LS174T cells after incubation with VFA, significant aggregation (p <0.01). Anti-epcam also inhibited cell aggregation of VFA. VFA promotes their differentiation by stimulating undifferentiated colon cancer cell lines. VFA promotes its differentiation by stimulating undifferentiated colon cancer cell lines. VFA acts through N-glycosylated epCAM binding or the pathway of epCAM.
