Results: In this study, researchers developed a mannose-modified cationic lipid nanoparticle (M-NP) to deliver the nucleic acid adjuvant and polycytidylic acid (PIC). Regardless of the molar ratio of the targeting ligand, the M-NP was able to fully load PIC as cargo. No significant changes in live cell density were observed after 24 and 48 h of cell incubation in the presence of PIC/M-NP with different mannose-PEG lipid contents. Nucleic acid adjuvants offer significant advantages in terms of biocompatibility and safety.
