Results: This paper details nanoparticles (gold, copper, silver, silicon, zinc, and selenium nanoparticles) and their applications in inhibiting various viruses. Due to their unique physicochemical properties, nanoparticles have been used as novel antimicrobial agents against various viral infections, especially influenza A virus. For example, gold nanoparticles exhibit antiviral results when covalently bound to other molecules, which can significantly enhance the antiviral effect. Silver nanoparticles, which have good solubility and high stability, can also provide some antiviral effects.
