Results: In this study, researchers synthesized poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA)-chitosan nanoparticles and loaded them with two near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent dyes, IR-780 iodide and Nile blue (NB). The researchers imaged the PLGA-IR-780-NB loaded nanoparticles using an IVIS visualizer. The researchers studied the weak absorption peaks of the two dyes in the blue light region and determined the optimal conditions for fluorescence excitation. PLGA-chitosan nanoparticles loaded with NIR fluorescent dyes exhibit significant phototherapy effects and imaging properties in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive tumor cells.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the principle of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) contrast agent imaging?
Contrast agents are used to shorten the resonance time of different tissues in an imaged organism under the action of an external magnetic field, enhance the difference in contrast signals, and improve imaging contrast and clarity. It effectively detects the imaging difference between normal tissue and diseased tissue and displays the functional status of organs or tissues in the body. According to the research needs of clients, we provide high-sensitivity imaging contrast agents.
  • What physical and chemical methods can be used to synthesize glyconanoparticles?
    • Physical approaches: Vapor condensation, laser ablation, sputtering, and ball milling.
    • Chemical approaches: Co-precipitation or chemical reduction, solvothermal method, thermal decomposition, micro-emulsion, and green synthesis.
