EDC/NHS-based Polysaccharide Conjugation Services

What Is EDC/NHS Reaction?

The creation of an amide bond is essential for the conjugation of the polysaccharide and peptide molecules. Carbodiimide chemistry is one of the most well-known methods of amide bond synthesis. Zero-length coupling using the 1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethyl aminopropyl)carbodiimide/N-hydroxy succinimide (EDC/NHS) system is a commonly employed approach for bioconjugation. This method was created for the synthesis of peptides, where reactions frequently take place between low-molecular-weight components and resin is frequently used, all of which increase the availability of the functional groups. However, when employed with large molecular weight polymers, the reaction rate is slower as a result of the reduced availability of the polymer's functional groups brought on by the solution's increased viscosity and steric hindrance. It was also demonstrated that this kind of coupling might result in the production of non-covalent conjugates.

EDC/NHS-based Polysaccharide Conjugation Services at CD BioGlyco

The conjugation of biomolecules to various substrates is widely employed in biomaterials, biosensors, biochips, chromatography, and lab-on-a-chip. EDC/NHS is a common technique for the covalent amide bond-mediated immobilization of NH2-containing biomolecules onto carboxyl-containing substrates. CD BioGlyco provides chemical-based conjugation services, particularly polysaccharide conjugation, based on this technology. The biomolecular conjugation and immobilization of proteins, peptides, DNAs, and other molecules to various substrates made of polymers, noble metals, silicon, nanoparticles, and nanotubes have frequently used the EDC/NHS activation of carboxylic acids and the subsequent amidation process. CD BioGlyco has the ability to help researchers study the potential application of polysaccharide conjugation. Clients will find a One-stop Conjugation Platform on our website, which includes Chemistry-based Polysaccharide Conjugation Services and Physical Crosslinking-based Polysaccharide Conjugation Services.
