Starch is a natural polymer with excellent biocompatibility properties that can be used as a material for the development of new biocomposites. CD BioGlyco is committed to providing clients with solutions for the development of starch-based biodegradable materials, covering process development, scale-up production, and analytical method development.
The research and development of biodegradable materials largely depend on the utilization of natural raw materials. At present, the natural raw materials of starch have reached a high level of utilization, especially by chemical modification and copolymerization of these natural polymers to synthesize a variety of degradable starch-based biomaterials. These materials have become one of the most promising candidates for various industrial applications due to their excellent biocompatibility, biodegradability, non-toxicity, acceptable mechanical properties, and renewable properties.
Due to its outstanding advantages, the development and application of biodegradable starch-based materials have attracted more and more attention. These materials have been widely used in biomedical fields such as tissue engineering and drug delivery systems. In addition, starch biomaterials can be processed into thermoplastic materials using various industrial techniques, among which are similar to those widely used for synthetic thermoplastics. Recently, advances in nanotechnology have facilitated the development of novel nanocomposites, which significantly enhance the properties of starch-based materials that are highly desirable for biomedical applications.

Researchers at CD BioGlyco are working to develop novel biocomposites with diverse applications in the biomedical field, including starch-based degradable materials. We provide total solutions for the development of starch-based degradable materials to help clients achieve improved safety, biocompatibility, and performance of medical implants. The services we provide to our clients include but are not limited to:
We provide a variety of available starch modification treatments, such as self-association, complexation with salts, grafting, covalent cross-linking, and others to help clients develop a variety of different types of modified starches that can be used in the biomedical field, such as cadexomer iodine (CI), oxidized starch (OS) and hydroxyethyl (HES).
We help clients integrate various nanofillers such as granules, fibers, and layers into starch matrices to develop nanocomposites that overcome starch materials' poor processability, low mechanical properties, poor long-term stability, and water sensitivity high-level limitations.
CD BioGlyco has accumulated rich experience in helping clients develop Polysaccharide-based Biodegradable Materials, including starch-based biodegradable materials. We combine extensive expertise and a variety of technologies and methods to provide our clients with reliable and professional solutions.
