Talose Analysis Service at CD BioGlyco

Since the isomerization of galactose produces a mixture of unreacted substrates and products Tagatose and talose, a separation process is required to obtain the desired product talose. Good target separation is an important basis for subsequent analysis and detection. Due to the complex formation or differences in affinity of cation exchange resins for the counterions of glycans, CD BioGlyco uses cation exchange resin chromatography for separation and purification. We optimize the effects of the degree of cross-linking of the cation exchange resin and map out the optimal conditions for separation and purification.

Our company has determined the physicochemical properties of the talose by high-performance gel permeation chromatography (HPGPC) and gas chromatography (GC) methods. We are characterizing the structures by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectra (FTIR), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). In addition, the bioactivity is evaluated by ex vivo and in vivo experiments. CD BioGlyco provides clients with a complete and comprehensive analysis of Carbohydrate Metabolism. With the help of a complete technical process and a professional talent team, you will be provided with original sugar profiles, a comprehensive report containing the specific experimental steps and elution gradients, and bioactivity data.

Paper Title: Preparation, characterization, and bioactivities of Athelia rolfsii exopolysaccharide-zinc complex (AEPS-zinc)

Technology: GC, FTIR, SEM, NMR.

Journal: International Journal of Biological Macromolecules

IF: 8.2

Published: 2018

Results: In this paper, AEPS was isolated from the culture fermentation broth of Rhodobacter sphaeroides. The molecular weights and monosaccharide compositions of AEPSI and AEPSII were determined, including seven fractions of talose. SEM, FTIR, and NMR characterized the structural features of talose and other components. The results showed that talose and other components were chelated with zinc ions and possibly chelated through hydroxyl and carboxyl groups. In vitro experiments showed that AEPS-zinc, and in vivo experiments showed that it had a good effect on improving zinc deficiency and antioxidant activities, complex had a good bioavailability.

Applications

  • Talose analysis is suitable for developing new tests for certain indicators in food and beverages.
  • Talose analysis as a tool for glycosylation-based drug development and disease therapy.
  • Talose content is linked to the expression of bacterial toxins in soil.

Advantages

  • We investigate the effects of the degree of cross-linkage of the cation-exchange resin, the counter-ion form of the resin, and the ethanol content of eluent on the apparent distribution coefficients.
  • Our professional team supports whole-process tracking, detection, and analysis in each step.

CD BioGlyco has paid special attention to developing and detecting rare sugars. We have developed and optimized the optimal analysis process for different kinds of Monosaccharide Analysis. We have worked with several multinational clients and received accolades. To learn more about the analysis of carbohydrates, please feel free to contact us.
