  • Professioan identification
    • Chromogenic reaction: Our researchers add sulfuric acid quickly after adding phenol solution dropwise to the diluted polydextrose solution, the color is a dark yellow to orange color.
    • Our researchers add a trace amount of acetone to the polydextrose test solution to observe the clarification of the solution. Then, we add acetone to the clarified solution and shook it well to observe the milky white precipitate.

Results: In this work, the researchers used a non-metabolomic approach to analyze the metabolism of blood and epididymal adipose tissue samples from mice with oral administration of polydextrose (PDX mice). Metabolomics analysis showed highly significant changes in PDX mice compared to control mice. Analysis of the cecum microbiota indicated that the bacterial genus in PDX mice was associated with a benefit in metabolic effects related to lipid metabolism.
