Uridine Triphosphate (UTP) Production Service

Biological Functions of Uridine Triphosphate (UTP)

The primary physiological function of UTP is as a substrate for RNA synthesis during transcription. UTP is involved in the synthesis of Cytidine Triphosphate (CTP) as a substrate. UTP also acts like Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) as an energy source or substrate activator in metabolic reactions. Galactose metabolism is participated by UTP, in which the activated form of UDP-galactose is converted to UDP-glucose. In addition, some studies have shown that UTP has a certain effect on immune metabolism, and can also stimulate myoelectric potential.

Synthetic Strategies

Different from other NTP syntheses, UTP is difficult to synthesize by enzyme-catalyzed strategy. Rapid kinase inactivation and slow UTP production are unsolved problems. Chemical synthesis is the strategy for the preparation of UTP. Different synthetic pipelines are based on different raw materials, including activated nucleoside phosphoramidite, uridine, uridine monophosphate, uridine diphosphate, orotic acid, and adenosine triphosphate.

UTP Production Service at CD BioGlyco

CD BioGlyco has developed excellent chemical synthesis technology for UTP production. We provide high-purity reagents for your various experimental studies.

Different applications of UTP.Fig.2 Different applications of UTP. (CD BioGlyco)

  • UTP in RNA synthesis: UTP is a substrate precursor for RNA biosynthesis. CD BioGlyco provides you with quality UTP products to assist your synthesis of the desired RNA in vitro.
  • UTP in signal transduction: Purinergic receptor P2Y activates different intracellular signaling pathways through G proteins to perform specific physiological functions. UTP is an agonist for the P2Y receptor.
  • UTP in cancer: Studies have shown that UTP can promote the migration of schwannoma cells in vitro through the P2Y receptor and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2).
  • UTP in cardiovascular disease (CVD): UTP can reduce the mitochondrial Ca2+ level caused by hypoxia, effectively reduce the size of heart infarction and myocardial function, and effectively reduce the size of heart infarction and improve myocardial function.
  • UTP in inflammation/immunity: UTP can increase the number of monocytes and macrophages, and up-regulate the expression of IL-4/13 in regional lymph nodes. It is expected to work as a vaccine adjuvant to enhance the production of antibodies against the rabies virus.

Applications

  • Exploring intracellular signaling mechanisms.
  • Study on tumor migration and development of antitumor therapy.
  • Research on CVD and the development of therapeutic agents.
  • Study on humoral immunity induced by UTP and development of antiviral therapeutic agents.
