High-Throughput Glycan Screening for Antibodies

High-Throughput Glycan Screening for Antibodies

Biological Significance of Antibody Glycans

Glycan antibodies are part of the antibody molecules that interact specifically with the structure of glycans. They are a special class of antibodies that, unlike traditional antibodies, do not recognize and bind biological macromolecules such as proteins, peptides, or nucleic acids. Through their binding to specific glycans, they recognize and distinguish different glycan structures on the cell surface and play a role in important physiological processes such as cognition, recognition and clearance of pathogens, and apoptosis. The principle of HTS of antibody glycans is to use high-throughput technology to rapidly screen a large number of glycan structures from which antibody candidates with high affinity for glycan antigens can be identified. This approach allows rapid screening of antibodies with specific glycan structures that play an important role in drug development and therapy.

HTS of Antibody Glycans at CD BioGlyco

Glycoconjugate antibodies are diverse and specific, and different types of antibodies recognize different glycan antigens, so efficient identification and screening of specific glycoconjugate antibodies are very important for relevant research. We provide comprehensive high-quality high-throughput antibody glycan screening services and subsequent activity test services for our clients worldwide:

  • HTS service by Microchip-Based Assay
Due to the small size of microchips and low sample usage, microchip-based assay typically requires fewer samples and reagents, reducing your costs and raw material consumption. And we combine it with an automated process that enables multiple experimental steps, such as sample loading, mixing, reaction, and assay, to be performed on a single microchip. This high degree of integration improves the accuracy and consistency of operation.
  • HTS service by Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization-Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS)
HTS using this technology is not disturbed by background factors and reliably identifies and screens samples for a wide range. It also detects very small amounts of molecules and is, therefore, able to detect very low concentrations of glycan antibodies.
